Universal Gem History

In 2009, Universal Gaming Group became the first Terminal Operator to install licensed VGTs in Illinois. From that day forward, our mission was to help small businesses owners grow their businesses while providing their customers with a unique entertainment experience second to none. Over the years we learned how to best serve our partner locations and their customers to the highest standard by focusing on service, strategy and technology on the way to becoming one of the premier TOs in Illinois.

In 2023 we took another big step forward by introducing My Player Perks, the best loyalty program in the industry. Our goal with My Player Perks was to provide partner locations with a way to reward their patrons and build customer loyalty, and their patrons with the best, most rewarding entertainment experience. As we like to say, “Real Rewards Members Want!”

In 2025 Universal Gaming Group and GEM Gaming merged to become Universal Gem. Two of the industry’s top Terminal Operators are now operating as one, providing unmatched leadership, service and innovation to help small businesses across Illinois thrive.
